Tirupati: HEIs told to avail divergent opportunities
Tirupati: A webinar on 'International Academic Partnerships during Covid 19: Challenges and opportunities' was organised by the International Relations Office of Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam (SPMVV), Tirupati on Wednesday.
Vice Chancellor Prof D Jamuna, in her inaugural address, said that Covid-19 pandemic posed several challenges in terms of students and faculty exchange, teaching and learning methods, international travel and in conducting scientific research.
The higher educational institutions need to formulate specific strategies to explore the divergent opportunities like networking of faculty, use of positive funding opportunities in the context of COVID-19, among other things, she said.
Prof P Vijay Lakshmi, Dean, International Relations stated that it is crucial to revisit the objectives and goals of Internationalization of HEIs in the context COVID-19.
Prof T Tripura Sundari, Dr N Rajani, Member, International Desk, Prof P Uma Maheshwari and Prof R Usha also took part while around 75 participants from across the country participated.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Prasada Reddy, Senior Economist from Center for Organization Development, Hyderabad, emphasised that the universities must prop up path breaking and complimentary research to promote collaborations with universities, industries and NGOs across the globe.
