Tirupati: Kanipakam temple to provide breakfast to patients in primary health center
Tirupati: In a laudable gesture, Kanipakam temple management will provide breakfast to patients at the local primary health centre (PHC) and curries and buttermilk to primary and high school students in Kanipakam along with mid-day meal to the students.
At a meeting held here on Wednesday on development of Kanipakam where the famous Sri Vrasidhi Vinayaka Swamy temple is located in Chittoor district, Collector Dr Bharath Narayan Gupta directed Kanipakam devasthanam to take the responsibility of providing breakfast to the patients in the PHC and also supplement mid-day meal with curry and buttermilk for providing staple food to school students from November 1.
The Collector also directed the temple executive officer Demudu to take steps for appointment of required staff for improving medical facility in the PHC and also pilgrims visiting the shrine.
The Collector, who held the meeting along with Puthalapatu MLA MS Babu, said that a master plan for the all-round development of Kanipakaam was sent to the government for approval and added that plans were afoot for development of Kanipakam giving priority to creation of facilities for the convenience of pilgrims. He said the temple management would procure the items required for temple from local farmers and also purchase the products produced by the women SHGs to support the local farmers and women to improve their business.
He wanted the temple management to take steps with the support of revenue and police for the removal unauthorised shops and encroachments in the town. He also urged the temple official to improve cleanliness in the pilgrim rest houses run by the Devasthanam. Assistant Executive Officer Kasturi and other officials were present.
