Tirupati: LLR, DL tests suspended from today to April 5

Tirupati: The transport department has decided to postpone the learning licence test (LLR) and driving licence test (DL) to be held from March 21 to April 5 as a preventive measure to contain the spread of coronavirus. These tests will not be held during the said period and will be rescheduled. The new dates will be intimated to the individuals after April 1.

Also, following the request from financiers, the off-line transactions which were earlier allowed up to March 31, will not be attended during the same period to reduce visitors flow to the office. The Transport Commissioner PSR Anjaneyulu issued a memo to this effect on Friday and asked all the Deputy Transport Commissioners to ensure proper cleaning and frequent sanitisation of the workplace.

SCR's proactive measure

South Central Railway took another proactive measure against the spread of coronavirus, by deciding to shut down all the retiring rooms and dormitories at railway stations in the Zone from March 21 to April 15. As a result, all the old and fresh bookings – both online and manual for allotment of these facilities will stand cancelled. Those who already booked these rooms will be informed and full refund to be given, the Chief PRO Ch Rakesh has said.

No free OP clinics in SVIMS

Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS) cancelled free OP clinics on March 22 and 29. The Institute runs various free OP clinics on Sundays. Radiology department runs such clinic for pregnant women to conduct obstetrics tests on every Sunday. Cardiology department runs hypertension clinic on the last Sunday of every month. All such clinics will be closed on the said dates in view of the 'Janata Curfew' call given by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to be observed on March 22, said the Medical Superintendent Dr Ram.

Further, SVIMS has advised the patients who suffer from normal diseases and visit the hospital in case of emergencies only.
