Tirupati Officials sounded alert on UK travel history persons movement amid corona second wave

In view of Coronavirus second wave strain in the United Kingdom Tirupati Municipal Corporation officials sounded the alert in the temple city on Wednesday. MCT Commissioner PS Girisha held an urgent meeting over taking precautionary measures in the city to take necessary steps. In the meeting Commissioner instructed the officials to closely watch the persons if anyone had UK travel history within the last one week. While talking to The Hans India, he said that so far we did not receive any communication from the AP state government over UK travel history persons. Moreover, the government of India imposed a ban on UK flights.

Whatever we initiate, advance precautionary measures to monitor the situation if any is identified with UK travel history. Moreover, our municipal health ANMs are ready to conduct a door to door survey to find out if any is suffering from Corona suspected symptoms with UK travel history.

In the meeting Commissioner asked the officials concerned to exchange the information properly to prevent the corona second wave strain. It may be noted that Chennai and Bengaluru cities are not far away, So there is a chance UK travelled history persons may travel from either Chennai or Bengaluru to Tirupati.

Previously the first CoronaVirus case was detected in Srikalahasti town 9 months ago. By that experience MCT officials sounded alert to the officials concerned. Moreover TTD has extended Vikunta Ekadasi Dwar Darshan facility to Devotees across the world through online booking. With the decision other state devotees and NRI Devotees may visit Tirumala and Tirupati for Vaikunta Dwara darshan till January 3.

In the situation, close monitoring over UK travelled history persons is necessary. In this direction Tirupati Civic Body officials are checking the health department staff's readiness to face any situation. Tirupati Urban Deputy Thasildar VenkataRamana, Municipal health Officer Dr Sudha , Additional Commissioner Haritha, Deputy Commissioner Chandramouleswar Reddy, health department officials took part.
