Tirupati: Pensions to be distributed to 60.97Lakh beneficiaries on July 1 says Minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy
Tirupati: Minister for Panchayat Raj and Rural Development P Ramachandra Reddy has said that 60.97 lakh pensions will be given by July 1.
Speaking to the media in Tirupati on Saturday evening, he said that by January 2020, there were 58.22 lakh beneficiaries who receiving pensions in the State. Their number increased by another 1.23 lakh by May 30.
As per the timeframe decided by Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, the applications received at village and ward secretariats will be resolved within 10 days and 96,568 new pensions will be sanctioned by this month end.
He said that the State government's functioning during the Covid pandemic has been lauded by entire country. The Chief Minister has been giving top priority to the welfare of the people.
The Minister said that a new sand policy has come up recently which allows free transport of sand in the bullock carts. Sand will be door delivered within two days of online enrolment.
Lauding the efforts of officials and doctors in containing the Covid-19 positive cases in Chittoor district, the Minister revealed that Sri Padmavati Nilayam will be made Covid OPD soon.
The district has geared up completely to treat the increasing number of positive cases. Joint Collector – II VR Chandramouli and Madanapalle RDO Murali were also present.
Earlier, participating in the launch of YSR Nethanna Nestham programme, Ramachandra Reddy has distributed Rs 16.03 crore mega cheque to 6,680 beneficiaries under the new scheme.
He said that this was the second installment under the scheme in which 8,301 beneficiaries will get Rs 19.92 crore. This will benefit the weavers in a big way.
District Collector Dr N Bharat Gupta, Chittoor MP N Reddeppa, Satyavedu MLA K Adimulam and others took part.
