Tirupati: Rayalaseema Express train scheduled to start from June 1
Tirupati: The movement of people from one place to another is increasing further with train travel commencing from June 1. Railways has decided to run 100 pairs of special trains on specific routes among which nine pairs will be originating in south central railway (SCR). Out of these nine trains, only one train will run between Tirupati and Nizamabad.
Train No.02793 Rayalaseema express will leave Tirupati at 4.25 pm to reach Nizamabad at 8.38 am the next day and in the return direction train No.02794 leaves Nizamabad at 2.05 pm and reach Tirupati at 6.15 am the next day. It is a daily train and the composition, stoppages and timings will also be the same as regular trains.
While the bookings for this train started on Thursday itself, the sleeper class tickets for the first three days were reserved completely for the first three days while only a few seats are available for AC II tier and AC III tier from the second day. For the first day except general class sitting tickets, no other tickets are available.
The CPRO Ch Rakesh stated that these are fully reserved trains. Also, there would be no tatkal and premium bookings for these trains and no unreserved coaches. Though, RAC and wait list is being generated, the CPRO made it clear that no waiting list ticket holder shall be permitted to board the train.
People can make advance reservation 30 days prior to their date of journey and only passengers with confirmed tickets will be allowed to enter the station. Though, only online booking of tickets was allowed initially, the Railways has opened regular reservation booking counters for the benefit of passengers. South Central Railway has decided to open 73 stations in its jurisdiction among which 44 are in AP. These counters were opened on Friday and started functioning.
Tirupati station director S Naga Ramana Sarma has told The Hans India that the station is well prepared to start train services.
