Tirupati: Section of people seeks closure of Srivari temple for some weeks

Tirupati: In view of corona virus outbreak, for the first time, people urge the government to close the TTD shrine in Tirumala for next four to six weeks. Intellectuals are of the opinion to close the Tirumala Srivari temple to prevent the spread of the virus.

It may be noted that TTD had already started thermal scanning and health checkups at Tirupati Alipiri tollgate and at two footpaths to identify the suspected corona patients.

But , some sections of people are of the view that both Tirumala and Tirupati are the vulnerable places as large number of pilgrims gather in queue lines, SV Nithay Annadanam, Kalyanakatta, inside the temple and Tirupati Bus Stand and Railway Station. In this regard some people have shared their opinions with The Hans India on Monday.

Former TTD Employees Training Academy director Bhuman Submramanyam Reddy said told that fortunately so far corona positive case was not registered in Tirupati. But Karantaka capital Bengaluru is facing serious situation by corona various spread. In the back drop AP government should take a decision to close the Tirumala temple, he said.

Dr M Revanth Reddy, A consultant Neurophysician expressed concern over the government delaying in taking temple closing decision. Presently India is in second stage of corona virus spread, Government of India has been taking some measures by educating people, but it is not enough, he said.

" In the same way out AP state government should also consider possibilities of closing Tirumala temple for dharsan as thousands of people from various places in the country visit the temple,'' he opined.
