Tirupati-Shirdi Express coach derails at Railway Koduru
Tirupati: Train No. 17417 Tirupati-Sainagar Shirdi Express coach derailed at Railway Koduru on Tuesday. The weekly train left Tirupati station at 8.33 am. It had to reach Railway Koduru at 9.27 am.
But when it was about to enter the station, the sleeper coach meant for ladies attached next to engine has slipped off the track. Loco pilot driver noticed this immediately and stopped the train averting major mishap.
Passengers heaved a sigh of relief as a major mishap was averted. Passengers of that coach were shifted to another coach and after separating the derailed coach from the train, it resumed the journey after more than three hours delay.
According to railway sources, no one was injured in the incident. Railway authorities have been attending rescue operation. It was the second such incident reported within 15 days. On November 17, pantry car coach of New Delhi – Tiruvananthapuram Kerala Express derailed at Yerpedu station on Renigunta – Gudur section.
