Tirupati: SPMVV holds webinar on Covid-19 management

Tirupati: A webinar on "Covid-19 management – challenges for pharmacy professionals", was held through Zoom App by the Institute of Pharmaceutical Technology, Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam (SPMVV) on Saturday. Registrar Prof DM Mamatha and Dean and School of Social Sciences Prof A Jyothi have participated as chief guests.

Speaking from USA, Prof Samba Reddy has discussed the concept of "The science and treatment of Covid-19" and said that in the absence of vaccine for the virus, maintaining physical distance, personal hygiene and enhancing the immunity levels are the only ways to contain the disease.

Dr Siddappa Baireddy also from USA, Dr N Rama Devi from Banaras Hindu University and retired Prof J Vijaya Rathna of Andhra University also spoke on some related aspects of the virus. They also answered the questions of the participants.

The webinar was held to discuss various challenges being faced by the Pharma sector, said its convenor Prof Y Indira Muzib. About 400 participants have enrolled for the programme.

Prof A Sridevi, Prof G Rajitha, Prof M Vidyavathi, Prof B Jeevana Jyothi and Dr B Ramya Kuber have acted as scientific chairpersons.
