Tirupati: SPMVV modifies Integrated BA-MA course, includes coaching for Civils
Tirupati: The 5-year Integrated BA/MA Public Policy and Anthropology course with Civils orientation being offered by Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam (SPMVV) since 2018-19 is getting some modifications from this academic year. As the university has entered an MoU with Venkatapathi Vidya Deevena of Para Association for Rural Development (PARD), a Hyderabad based NGO in Andhra Pradesh, this course will now be offered under the new initiative "SPMVV-PARD Administrative Institute".
Girl students with any Branch of Intermediate qualification are eligible to take admission in to BA/MA Public Policy and Anthropology course which will have multiple exit and entry points. At the end of three years of study who wish to leave shall be given BA in Public Policy and Anthropology Degree.
Those who complete 4 years of study shall be eligible to receive BA Hons Degree which will be useful for continuing further studies in USA. Similarly, after successful completion of five years, students can receive degree in BA-MA Public policy and Anthropology from the University, said the Vice Chancellor Prof D Jamuna.
She added that, this course further provides an opportunity to pursue civils oriented courses for girl students with multi entry level admissions to seek admission into 4th year of the course and after successful completion of the 4th and 5th year of their study they are eligible to receive MA in Public Policy and Anthropology Degree from the University.
The classes will be conducted by inviting experienced and eminent IAS Officers as well as by young Civil servants to nurture and train the girl students to become women administrators. The V-C has explained that all the eligible students will get scholarship from the government of AP under Jagananna Vidya Devena and Jagananna Vasathi Devena programmes. This will be extended to the students studying in SPMVV having interest in Civils oriented coaching as and when there is a need.
Meanwhile, the brochure with the proposed changes in the courses was released by the Vice-Chacnellor Prof D Jamuna, Rector Prof K Sandhya Rani, Registrar Prof DM Mamatha, Dean Prof T Bharati, Prof K Murugaiah and Honorary president of PARD Dr PV Lakshmaiah.
