Tirupati: Stanford professor stresses the importance of water

Tirupati: Noted Professor of Chemistry from Stanford University, USA Richard N Zare has delivered a talk on 'Water so common, So mysterious' at Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Tirupati on Monday.

During the talk he dwelled at length on various facets of the topic and said that water covers about four-fifths the surface of the earth and human life depends on potable water.

Water is so abundant, its behaviour so familiar, appearance so commonplace and one may be tricked into thinking that there is nothing new to be learned about this substance, he said.
