Tirupati: TDP leaders condemn arrest of Atchannaidu
Tirupati: TDP cadre led by former MLA M Sugunamma protested the arrest of party senior leader K Atchannaidu by ACB on Friday in connection with the alleged irregularities in ESI corporation in which crores of rupees were misappropriated.
In a sudden development, the former Minister was taken into custody at his residence in Nimmada of Srikakulam district.
Knowing this, the opposition TDP leaders have reached Mahatma Jyothi Rao Phule statue at Balaji Colony Circle in Tirupati and staged a protest.
They submitted a memorandum to the Phule statue mentioning the injustice done to the backward communities. They deplored the arrest terming it as unethical and vindictive attitude of the government.
Party leaders RC Muni Krishna, D Bhaskar Yadav, Rajeswari, Santhamma and others participated and raised slogans against the government and condemning the arrest.
Earlier, the former Director of ESI Corporation CK Ramesh Kumar was taken into custody from his residence at Avilala in Tirupati by ACB sleuths who came from Vijayawada along with another one Dr V Janardhan and shifted them to Vijayawada.
