Tirupati: Tributes paid to martyred Army officer Santhosh Babu, others

Tirupati: People from various sections, party leaders and officials paid rich tributes to the martyred Army officer Colonel Santhosh Babu and other soldiers who died while fighting the Chinese army in Galwan valley in Ladakh.

A condolence meeting was held at Police Parade ground in the city on Thursday. Tirupati Urban SP A Ramesh Reddy paid floral tributes to the portrait of Santhosh Babu and saluted the brave Army officer for sacrificing his life for the sake of the country. He said that the sacrifice of Veer Jawans will not go waste and the country will remember their sacrifice forever.

The management and staff of Ambedkar Global Law College led by its chairman Dr Ramasani Thippa Reddy paid rich tributes to martyr Santhosh Babu, at a function held in the college.

On the occasion, Thippa Reddy said the bravery of Santhosh Babu and other soldiers who laid down their lives for protecting our borders is unforgettable. All of us should unite together to fight against China and the time has come to boycott Chinese goods, he said. College Administration Officer Krishna and others participated.

Senior Congress leader and former Union minister Dr Chinta Mohan paid rich tributes to martyred Army officers and Jawans who died in the fight with Chinese soldiers in Galwan valley of Ladakh.

He said that Col Santhosh Babu was known to him and met him when he was in Delhi. He stood with great courage in extreme climatic conditions in the border, he said.

Congress leader and party SC Cell district president G Chittibabu along with party activists paid tributes to Col Santhosh Babu and other soldiers who died in the fighting with the Chinese army in Ladakh.

Chitti Babu paid floral tributes to the portrait of Santhosh Babu at Amar Jawan Memorial in the city.
