Tirupati: TTD to resume room allotment in Srinivasam, Madhavam
Tirupati: Here is good news to devotees across the country. TTD will allot its Srinivasam and Madhavam rest houses in Tirupati from December 15. After eight months of Covdi-19 outbreak, Chittoor district officials recently handed over the two complexes to the TTD.
The TTD had stopped allotment of rooms from March 1 in these complexes following the Covid-19 guidelines issued by the Government of India. Later, it handed over these two rest houses to Chittoor district collector for running Covid-19 care centres.
The facilities were served as Covid-19 care centres from April-end where patients were provided treatment. There are around 400 rooms and common rest halls in Srinivasam and 250 deluxe rooms in Madhavam rest house.
After the decline in number of Covid cases in the district, both rest houses were handed over to TTD officials by district revenue department. It took more than one month for the TTD to sanitise the two complexes which concluded a week ago.
After wider consultations with the officials concerned, TTD EO K S Jawahar Reddy has decided to resume allotment of rooms in Srinivasam and Madhavam. On the instructions of TTD EO, reception department officials made all the arrangements for room allotment online from December 15.
Previously, TTD had allotted the rooms offline only in these complexes. Now devotees from around the world can book rooms at Srinivasam and Madhavam rest houses online.
In view of post-Covid-19 guidelines, TTD has decided to allot all the rooms online in near future too.
