Top former bureaucrats, Police officials contesting in AP 2019 elections

Amaravati: In the forthcoming MP and Assembly elections in AP, nearly 20 top former bureaucrats from All India Services, Group 1 officers are testing their luck in the elections.

After the retirement or by taking VRS, the former government officials and police bosses are contesting as MLA and MP candidates from TDP, YSRCP, Jana Sena, and other political parties.

Recently, the IPS rank officer VV Lakshminarayana has taken VRS to the services, is now contesting as Visakhapatnam MP candidate from Jana Sena Party.

Another IAS officer Thota Chandrashekar is contesting as Janasena MLA candidate from Guntur East Assembly constituency.

Metta Rama Rao, is a senior IRS officer belongs to 1991 batch, has taken VRS and contesting as Janasena Srikakulam MP candidate.

Janasena Anakapalle MP candidate Parthasarathy is also an ex-IRS officer. Former Minister Ravela Kishore Babu is a retired IRTS officer and he is contesting as Janasena MLA candidate from Prathipadu.

Vemuru Janasena MLA candidate Bharat Bhushan is also a former IRS officer.

TDP Bapatla MP candidate Malyadri Sriram is an ex IRS officer. TDP Kodumur MLA candidate Ramanjaneyulu is a former IAS officer.

IG Iqbal Ahmed Khan, who recently got retired from the services, is contesting as YSRCP Hindupur MLA candidate.

Former DIG Yesuratnam is contesting as YSRCP MLA candidate from Guntur West Assembly seat.

The YSRCP Nandikotkur MLA candidate Arthur is also a police officer, who served as Chief Marshal in AP Assembly.

The Political analyst and former MLC K Nageshwar said that with the influence of political leaders the bureaucrats are coming into the active politicals.
