Total coronavirus death toll mounted to 50 in AP

Amaravati: Total COVID19 deaths touched half century mark in Andhra Pradesh as on Sunday, with the latest one from Krishna district.

Out of the total 50 deceased, 19 from Kurnool, 15 from Krishna, 8 from Guntur, 4 from Anantapur, 3 from Nellore and 1 from Visakhapatnam, according to the information provided by A Srikanth, Nodal Officer, department of Health and Medical.

On the other hand, the total positive cases reported in the State as 2,380, which include the 150 patients belonging to other states. Within the State, there are 2230 confirmed positive cases and out of them, 25 new cases, 747 active, 1433 discharged and 50 deceased.

The Kurnool continued on the top of the positive cases list. There are 611 positive cases in Kurnool district, out of them only 187 active including the new 3 reported on Sunday.

There are 417 confirmed patients in Guntur district, out of them 134 active. In the Krishna district, 367 cases reported. Similarly, there are 177 in Chittoor, 150 in Nellore, 122 in Anantapur, 102 in Kadapa, 75 in Visakhapatnam, 70 in West Godavari, 66 in Prakasam, 52 in East Godavari, 14 in Srikakulam, 7 in Vizianagaram.

Though, the Prakasam district was declared zero active positive cases as on Saturday, it witnessed three new cases on Sunday.

It is worth mentioning that, the new cases including 3 in Prakasam, 1 in Chittoor and another 1 in Kurnool traced history to Koyambed in Tamil Nadu.

On the other hand, out of 150 positive cases of other states in Andhra Pradesh are including 101 belonging to Maharashtra, 26 to Gujarat, 10 to Odisha, 11 to Rajasthan, 1 each to Karnataka and West Bengal. Among them 127 are active cases and undergoing treatment at various COVID hospitals in the State.
