Tourism DG expresses satisfaction over ongoing Srisailam works

Kurnool: Director General of AP Tourism Meenakshi Sharma on Sunday inspected the ongoing construction works taken up under the Pilgrimage Rejuvenation And Spiritual Augmentation Drive (PRASAD) in Srisailam temple. Later the Director General accompanied by temple Executive Officer (EO) K S Rama Rao conducted a review meeting on the development of works at Bhramarambha Sadan also.

Addressing the review meeting, K S Rama Rao has first given a brief description about the importance topography of the Srisailam temple. The historical aspects, mentioning of ancient literature, organising of yearly Mahotsavams, devotees rush and the arrangements being made for the devotees by the temple. Later he elaborated about the works taken up under PRASAD scheme through power point presentation.

He said, light and sound show, construction of amphitheater near gaushala, information centre at Nandi circle, beautification of temple premises with lights, brass queue lines, parking lots at RTC bus stand and outer ring roads, laying of road up to darshan queue complex from outer ring road were taken up under the programme. He further said a road leading up to Pathala Ganga, renovation of pushkarani at Shikareshwaram temple, resting place for pilgrims at Hatakeswaram temple, setting up of watch tower, construction of ramp at Shikareshwaram temple from parking lot, beautification with lighting at Pancha mutts, construction of toilets and others have been taken up, stated the EO.

The director general, Meenakshi Sharma has expressed satisfaction over the works taken up under the PRASAD scheme. Speaking on the occasion, she suggested the EO to furnish full details of Arjitha sevas, accommodation arrangements and others near Nandi circle so that the pilgrims visiting the temple can easily know the things.

She said the devotees who visit the sacred temple from various parts of the country, should not face any problems.

She also suggested organising cultural, spiritual and other devotional programmes near the amphitheater during Sunday and Monday as the devotees are likely to visit in large numbers during the two days. She also instructed the EO to decorate the Pushkarini at Shikareshwaram temple with attractive lightings.
