Tributes paid to Pulwama martyrs in Tirupati

Tirupati: Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha (RSVP) organised a solidarity candle march in the campus to commemorate the terrorists attack at Pulwama that took place last year.

Speaking on the occasion, the Vice-Chancellor Prof V Muralidhara Sharma highlighted the importance of the selfless service of the Jawans at the border and condemned the heinous act of bombarding the vehicle which carries them resulting in the death of 48 soldiers of the soil.

Students sung a patriotic song and the campus echoed with the slogans of 'Jai Jawan Jai Kisan', 'Veer Jawan Amar Rahe' etc., The NSS units along with their Programme Officers and volunteers too participated in the rally and expressed their condolences on the occasion. Prof PR Joshi, Prof OSRL Sarma, Prof Raghavan, Prof Tripathi, Prof S Dakshnamurthy, Dr R Chandrasekhar, Dr A Chandulal, and others participated in the rally.

At a programme held in Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam (SPMVV), Registrar Prof DM Mamatha, NSS Coordinator Prof J Katyayani and others have paid homage to the martyrs in Pulwama attack. Several shows were presented to the students on the heroics of Indian soldiers. Dr K Sunitha, Dr Sobha Rani, Dr Sita Kumari and others participated.
