TTD begins Kalyanotsavam laddu sales in Tirupati
Tirupati: After 55 days of gap due to lockdown, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams has resumed its Prasadam sales at the TTD Administrative Building in Tirupati on trial basis.
For this a special counter has been set up by the officials near the employees' canteen at the Administrative Building. As part of the sales launched on a trial basis, the TTD from Friday began selling Kalyanostavam laddu (big laddu) for Rs 200 and Vada for Rs 100 sales.
Officials decided to sell 500 big laddus and vada each day. Locals at Tirupati can get this laddu and vada prasadam during the working hours at the TTD Administrative Building.
Actually during the last 55 days, the TTD was making 51 big laddus for Srivari Nivedyam at Tirumala temple. From Thursday, they stated making 500 big laddus. This practice may continue till the lockdown is withdrawn.
On Friday, total 500 big laddus and vada were sold out in first hour. Later, they closed the counter.
During the lockdown all the potu (laddu making kitchen) workers have been left without work. With the resumption of making big laddus and vada, they have now resumed their work. Normal production is likely to be restored at the potu, once the lockdown is completely lifted.
