Tirumala: TTD chairman Y V Subba Reddy on Sunday inspected Alipiri footpath route to Tirumala. He instructed the shopkeepers to sell the goods at MRP (maximum retail price) only to pilgrims and warned that any violation would not be tolerated.

Finding that the toilets on the pedestrian route are not properly maintained, he instructed the sanitation staff to clean the bathrooms twice daily and ensure proper maintenance.

Subba Reddy also interacted with the pilgrims and received feedback on the amenities and also on the steps needed for further improvement of pilgrim services in Tirumala and Tirupati. The pilgrims overall expressed satisfaction on TTD pilgrim services.

It is pertinent to note that during the 'Dial Your EO' programme held on September 6, many pilgrims complained on lack of drinking water on the pedestrian path and also on vendors selling goods at more than the MRP.
