TTD makes elaborate arrangements for pilgrims accommodation in Tirumala

Tirumala : TTD has taken all measures for providing accommodation for the convenience visiting pilgrims during Brahmotsavams by setting up separate counters for pilgrims, locals and employees, said Reception wing DyEOs Balaji and Parvathi.

Briefing the media at Media Centre here on Saturday, the Reception 1 DyEO Balaji said that on total 753 AC rooms are available in Tirumala out of which 420 rooms are allotted to pilgrims on regular basis while 230 rooms are available in on-line through Advanced Reservation Process(ARP), while another 58 are under permanent accommodation.

The facility of cashless transactions is provided with the introduction of Swiping Machines at the accommodation booking counters, he said. Briefing on general accommodation, the Special Grade DyEO of R2 and R3 Parvathi said, there are 6,000 rooms under the reception wing.

In addition, there are 1,256 lockers available in PAC 1, 3,300 in PAC 2, 1,850 in PAC 3, 812 in Padmanabha Nilayam. Of them, PAC 1 and 2 are allotted only to pilgrims during Brahmotsavams, while PAC 3 and Padmanabha Nilayam are allotted to men and women police respectively drafted for Brahmotsavam security duty.

Apart from PACs, on October 2, Matrusri Vakulamata Rest House is also opened with 270 rooms which are also brought under use for pilgrims easing out the tight accommodation position to some extent in Tirumala, she said. AEO Mohan Raju was also present.
