Turlapati receives Ravuri Literary Award in Vijayawada

Vijayawada: Padmasri awardee and noted journalist Dr Turlapati Kutumba Rao was presented with Literary Award in the memory of Jnanpeeth awardee Dr Ravuri Bhardhvaja on Friday. The programme was held at the Cultural Centre of Vijayawada and Amaravati organised jointly by GVR Aradhana Cultural Foundation and Dr Ravuri Bhardhvaja and Ravuri Kanthamma Trust.

Mandali Buddha Prasad, former Deputy Speaker presenting the award said that Dr Turlapati deserves the honour who has contributed enormously to the fields of Journalism and Literature. Dr E Sivanagi Reddy, CEO, CCVA, presided over the function and highlighted both the great personalities, Viz., Jnanpeeth Awardee.

Ravuri Venkata Koteswara Rao of the trust felicitated Dr Turlapati with a cash Award of Rs 10,000 and Ramaraju Lakshmi Srinivas, with Rs 5000. Dr Turlapati in his response hoped that Dr Ravuri Bhardhvaja shall be honoured with one of the Padma awards as the other two Jnanpeeth Awardees--Viswanatha Satyanarayana and C Narayana Reddy--who were honoured with Padma Awards.

Dr Aparna Prasad, Bharati Raghava Nrutya Kendra, G Venkata Ready, Chairman, GVR Cultural Foundation and a good member of literary enthusiasts from the City participated in the programme.
