Two died, 26 injured as RTC bus hits bike in Prakasam district

Markapur: In an incident, two people died, and 26 others injured as the RTC bus turned over after hitting a bike from behind near Darimadugu in the Mandal on Sunday.

The deceased identified as SK Abdul Rahiman (30) and SK Jinda Sahid (18). According to the police, an RTC bus belongs to Kadapa depot was on its way to Kadapa from Srisailam with 26 passengers on board.

Sheikh Abdul Rahiman along with Jinda Sahid was returning to Markapuram on his bike after attending the wedding of his relatives in Doranala. This accident happened on Doranala-Ongole national highway when the RTC bus turned over after colliding with the bike while overtaking. The two, who were on the motorcycle died on the spot.

Abdul Rahiman is a fruit vendor who resides at the tenth ward here in the town. He left behind with wife Rukshana and two children. Jinda Sahid is a native of Kurnool district and studying diploma second year at a private college in Darimadugu.

The 26 passengers in the bus sustained injuries, where two victims said to be in critical condition. Over the information, the police reached the spot, registered a case and investigating further.
