Two illegal Bangladeshi immigrants arrested in Visakhapatnam

Visakhapatnam: Two illegal immigrants from Bangladesh -- Mohammed Jewel Hassan (21) and Laballu Hussain (33) involved in a murder case in Kerala were nabbed in Visakhapatnam railway station on Wednesday.

The duo, suspected to be involved in a double murder case reported in Alappuzha on November 10, boarded train no 12841 Coramandal Express during the early hours of Tuesday.

Based on the information received from Kerala Police, the duo was nabbed and handed over to the Kerala police in a joint operation made by the Railway Protection Force, General Railway Police, and the city police.

The two joined in temple construction work in Chengannur, Kerala. After a couple of days, they quit the job to join other works. Meanwhile, they came in contact with an elderly couple, who were later found murdered and their house decamped.

The police said the duo were prime suspects in the double murder case of A P Cherian (75) and Aley Kutty (65) residing in Kerala.

The search was coordinated by Senior Divisional Security Commissioner, RPF Jitendra Srivastava and Police Commissioner R K Meena along with special teams.

On its arrival at Visakhapatnam railway station, the accused were caught by the cops when they were trying to flee the coach, seeing the police.

Gold ornaments weighing 350 gms worth Rs.11 lakh and Rs.17,000 cash were recovered from the accused.

After completion of legal formalities, the accused will be taken to Kerala for further investigation.
