UBI Vigilance Awareness Week observed in GITAM

Visakhapatnam: The Vigilance Awareness Week was celebrated at GITAM Deemed to be University here on Saturday in the presence of Union Bank of India Field General Manager B Srinivasa Rao. The Vigilance Awareness Week is being celebrated every year coincides with the birthday of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, known to be a man of high integrity.

Srinivasa Rao said that the purpose of programme is to generate awareness among public about the bad effects of corruption. Explaining the scope of corruption, he said corruption is not only about giving money, but it includes all actions where processes are being compromised.

Giving emphasis on preventive vigilance, GITAM Vice-Chancellor Prof K Sivaramakrishna said that preventive vigilance should be given prominence over the investigative vigilance. As part of programme, several competitions conducted to students on this year's theme "Integrity-A way of Life." Chief guest B Srinivasa Rao presented the certificates to students.

The programme was jointly organised by GITAM University Student Affairs Directorate and Union Bank of India. Programme Coordinator Prof K Veerabhadram, Bangalore UBI Deputy Zonal head K S N Murthy, Ajaykumar, Narayana, UBI senior officials participated in the programme.
