Uday Express to chug along Vizag-Vijayawada route soon

Visakhapatnam: The much-awaited double decker train Uday or Utkrisht Double Decker Air Conditioned Yatri Express will chug along Visakhapatnam-Vijayawada route shortly.

The specially-designed air-conditioned train that comprises nine double-decker coaches and two power cars reached Visakhapatnam station from Jalandhar.

According to the railway officials, the trial run between Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada will commence, covering a stretch of 350 kms followed by a technical review.

The train will halt at Duvvada, Anakapalle, Tuni, Samarlakota, Rajamahendravaram and Eluru enroute.

The departure time of Visakhapatnam-Vijayawada Uday Express from Visakhapatnam Junction is 5:45 am and arrival time at Vijayawada Junction is 11:15 am. In return direction, it will leave Vijayawada Junction at 5:30 pm and reach Visakhapatnam Junction at 10:55 pm.

These express trains with features such as WiFi, striking interiors, cushioned seating and display screens are primarily allocated to the busiest routes to increase the carrying capacity.

The first service of the train was flagged off between Coimbatore Junction and Bangalore in 2018. It is also proposed to be launched between Bangalore and Chennai Central.
