UNICEF representatives visit Andhra University

Visakhapatnam: UNICEF, Hyderabad C4D specialist Seema Kumar and Child Protection Officer M Muralikrishna visited Andhra University on Tuesday. They reviewed the activities of AU NSS Cell and UNICEF project 'engaging NSS volunteers of adolescents empowerment programme in Visakhapatnam district'.

According to the UNICEF representatives, the partnership with AU NSS Cell brought good result in delivering services to the community at large by making NSS volunteers change agents while addressing adolescent issues.

UNICEF, India is addressing several child issues like child trafficking, child abuse, malnourishment, child marriage and child labour and AU NSS cell stood first among 15 different models extending support to resolve the issues.

The UNICEF team met AU Vice-Chancellor G Nageswara Rao, Rector M. Prasada Rao and Registrar K. Niranjan and NSS programme coordinator S Haranath.
