Union Minister Pradhan calls on Governor

Vijayawada: Governor Biswa Bhusan Harichandan requested the Union minister for petroleum, gas and steel Dharmendra Pradhan to extend cooperation for the development of the state. The Union minister met the Governor at Raj Bhavan here on Friday as part of his visit.

On the occasion, they discussed various issues, including state development. Governor Harichandan explained the hurdles faced by the state following the bifurcation. The state suffered a huge loss with the bifurcation, he said and asked the Union minister to focus on the allocation of funds and projects for state development.

The Union minister invited the Governor to visit the ONGC's K-G basin and also the Visakha Steel plant. The Governor explained the details of his recent visit to the Petroleum Institute and Energy Institution in Visakhapatnam.

Governor Secretary Mukeshkumar Meena and joint secretary Arjuna Rao were also present. Meanwhile, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurated the Gas Generation Station near Nagayalanka in Krishna district on Friday.
