Union Minister reviews Tirupati station redevelopment works

Tirupati: The Minister of State (MoS) of Railways Suresh C Angadi visited Tirupati railway station on Friday and reviewed station redevelopment works with South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager (GM) Gajanan Mallya, Divisional Railway Manager Alok Tiwari, Municipal Corporation Commissioner PS Girisha and other officials. He undertook an extensive tour of the station covering entire premises from the main entrance at North side till the South side entrance area.

The Minister visited Food Track–the catering outlet maintained by IRCTC at the station to check the quality of food and expressed satisfaction of the standards being maintained. The Union Minister interacted with the passengers and enquired the availability of facilities at "Athidhi AC Premium Lounge".

Suresh Angadi has also inspected foot over bridge, waiting halls on platform number one and had a detailed view of redevelopment model of the station on display at main concourse area.

While reviewing the developmental plans at South side of the station, the Minister sought detailed information and instructed the officials to speed up the process of executing the approved plans for passenger convenience. Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA) officials made a detailed presentation of redevelopment works and provision of passenger amenities to the pilgrims visiting the abode of Lord Venkateswara.

Municipal Corporation of Tirupati (MCT) Commissioner PS Girisha has explained the Corporation requirements while implementing the redevelopment plan. Station Director S Naga Ramana Sarma, Station Manager K Rajendra Prasad and other officials were present during the visit.
