Use Cyber Mithra app to lodge plaints, women told SP
Kurnool: District Superintendent of Police (SP) Dr K Fakeerappa said that women are becoming victims of cybercrimes. The district police are taking measures to put an end cybercrime through Cyber Mithra app, he stated.
Speaking to the media at his office here on Tuesday, the SP mentioned that they are organising awareness camps on cybercrimes in educational institutions and offices to instil confidence among the students and women, on the instructions of DGP Gautam Sawang.
The district top cop said that several cybercrime victims are not aware to whom they have to approach and where to lodge a complaint. He exhorted the victims to use the services of police personnel without any hesitation and fear.
The Police department has launched Cyber Mithra app. It is a good app for bringing their problems to people's notice, the SP said and added even a Facebook page was also created with name 'AP Police Women Safety Cyber Space'.
As part of Cyber Mithra, the Police department has set up two helpline and tollfree numbers−112, 181,100−and WhatsApp number 9121211100. The staff would be available round-the-clock so that the complainant can use the services, the SP said and assured the complainants to keep their identity secret.
