Vacation period: Vizag Police urge people to use LHMS
Visakhapatnam: As the vacation time commences, the police urge the travellers to avail locked house monitoring system (LHMS) by informing the police station.
Sharing details of the system, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crimes) V Suresh Babu cautioned the public to be vigilant during vacation time.
"Sankranthi is the time many would head to their hometown. The locked houses create a conducive environment for the miscreants to commit thefts. Hence we appeal to those leaving for their native places to make use of the LHMS, informing the local police station," Suresh Babu reiterated.
Meanwhile, in a step to curb crimes, City Police Commissioner Manish Kumar Sinha initiated 'Mana Illu Mana Badyatha.' With increased police beats, two-wheelers will be patrolling across the city. Awareness will be built among people on the need to stay vigilant during vacation period, the DCP informed.
Further, he suggested to the travellers not to keep any valuables at home when they are away for a vacation and advised them to use bank lockers instead.
