Vanamahotsavam held at Paparao Public School
Prakasam: Vanamahotsvam programme was celebrated on a grand note at Paparao Public School at K Uppalapadu of Kondepi mandal in Prakasam district on Saturday. The celebrations started with the floral tributes paid to the school founder Ch Radhakrishna Murthy.
The chief guest of the programme was NC Prasad, Police Sub-inspector of Kondepi. He said that cutting trees and deforestation was the main reason for not having sufficient rains.
In the name of urbanisation and industrialization, trees were being felled. One should feel the responsibility of planting trees to have sufficient rainfall in this region. Students should fix a goal and work hard to achieve it, he added.
The school correspondent, Ch Chowdary said that by developing greenery and improving forests, we receive good rainfall which will be sufficient for all the needs. As part of the programme, saplings were planted in the school campus.
Students participated in various programmes organised by the school management on the occasion and the winners were given prizes.
