Vangaveeti Radhakrishna attends massive rally for Amaravati in Vijayawada
Vijayawada: A massive rally organised by Amaravati Parirakshana Samithi was taken out here on Friday demanding continuation of capital city at Amaravati and withdrawal of the proposal to establish three capitals in the State.
Former MLA Vangaveeti Radhakrishna addressing the rally said that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was going ahead with his proposal in spite of the protests from people all over the State.
He said that the farmers gave their lands for the capital city but not for the benefit of any person, he pointed out. "The agitation which had been going on for the last 52 days would continue till the decision was withdrawn," he said.
MLC Budda Venkanna said that all Telugu people are against the change of the capital city.
Former zilla parishad chairperson Gadde Anuradha said that all women came out against the decision of the state government.
JAC convener Gadde Tirupati Rao and others also spoke.
The rally which started at Kummaripalem, culminated in a meeting at Sitara Junction with the activists raising slogans demanding the capital city at Amaravati.
