VCU team explores scope for joint academic
Visakhapatnam: The academic team from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), US visited GITAM here on Thursday to explore the scope for joint academic and research activities. The delegation headed by VCU dean Mohan Gupta interacted with the institution officials on possible potential collaboration in the areas between the two institutions. They include exchange of faculty members for research, consulting and lecturing, exchange of students (UG/PG and Ph.D) for study and research, exchange of educational materials and academic publications and joint research publications.
While interacting with the VCU team, the institution’s Pro Vice-Chancellor Y. Goutham Rao briefed about the institution’s vision and strategies.
He mentioned that the institution has implemented the New Education Policy and gives equal importance to research. He elaborated about the science research infrastructure, research policies. The VCU team has shown interest to collaborate to strengthen the intellectual base.
School of Science dean VS Krishna, School of Technology dean Ch. Vijayasekhar, School of Pharmacy dean Jagattaran Das, academic affairs dean Radhika and international student affairs director K.P. Kishan participated in the discussion.
