Veteran leader Bhaktavatsala passes away

Nellore: Veteran leader Anam Bhaktavatsala Reddy passed away late on Friday at a hospital due to cardiac arrest. He is 90 and is survived by wife and son Venkata Ramana Reddy. He is son of former Minister AC Subba Reddy, who served in the cabinet of Neelam Sanjeeva Reddy in 60s.

Bhaktavatsala Reddy had served as Indukurpet Samithi President, President of District Cooperative Central Bank, and former chief of prestigious VR Educational Institutions. He has been ailing age related issues for some time and died in a private hospital on Friday night due to heart stroke.

His body has been shifted to South Rajupalem on Saturday and last rites would be done there. His son Venkata Ramana Reddy is a YSRCP leader. Former Minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy, Udayagiri legislator M Chandrasekhar Reddy, Vijaya Dairy Chairman K Rangareddy, former Mayor Abdul Aziz and others offered tributes to the departed leader. His last rites would be held in South Rajupalem on Sunday.
