Vijayawada: 15 take oath as Durga trust board members

Vijayawada: The recently appointed members of the Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Temple (Durga temple) trust board took oath at the Mahamandapam here on Monday. Temple executive officer M V Suresh Babu administered the oath of office and secrecy with the 16 members.

Endowment Minister Velampalli Srinivas, Penamaluru MLA and former Minister K Parthasarathy and other MLAs and YSRCP leaders attended the event. Former city Congress president and YSRCP leader Paila Sominaidu are likely to be appointed as the chairman of the Trust Board committee.

Along with Paila Sominaidu, the other 15 members took the oath on Monday. Other members are Katakam Sridevi, DVRK Prasad, Busireddy Subbayamma, Puli Chandralekha, Dr. O V Ramana, Ganta Prasada Rao, Rachamallu Sivaprasada Reddy, Ch Venkata Naga Varalaxmi, Karthika Rajya Laxmi, Netikoppula Sujatha, Nalapatta Ambica, Kanugula Venkata Ramana, Nersu Satish and Bandaru Jyothy. Lingambhotla Durga Prasad is the ex-officio member. The Trust Board members will hold the office for a period of two years.
