Vijayawada: Amrutha Hastam feeds migrant workers

Vijayawada: Amruta Hastam, an NGO, in association with Telugu Association of North America (TANA) has been providing food to the migrant workers, beggars and the poor for the last 48 days. After obtaining permission from the Municipal Corporation to utilise the premises of Gorumudda Kendram near Dharna Chowk in the city, the volunteers of Amruta Hastam is providing food to 5,000 people per day, said Dara Karunasri, founder of Amruta Hastam.

The volunteers of Amruta Hastam are serving food to the needy in thirty areas in Krishna and Guntur districts with the help of 350 volunteers, she said. "So far they have served food to five lakh people during the last 48 days," Karunasri said.

Amruta Hastam treasurer K Anjaneyulu said that his NRI friend from the USA Venkat with the help of TANA office-bearers Niranjan, Jai Talluri,Satish Varma and Lavu Anjanaiah Chowdary has provided funds to feed the needy for 10 days.

Lions Club Vijayawada Supreme chairman Maddineni Chakradhar, Railway Srinivas, Muralikrishna, Sekhar, Venkat, Vijay, Rupanadh, Poorna, Events Siva and others were helping the programme.
