Vijayawada: APCC questions silence of Jagan, Naidu over petro hike
Vijayawada: Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy and Opposition leader N Chandrababu Naidu were conspicuous by their silence over the continuous petro hike for the last 22 days, said Dr Sake Sailajanath, president of Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee.
He said in a statement here on Tuesday that both the leaders should open up and register their protest against the petro hike which has been eating away sizeable amount of people's money.
The petro hike by the BJP was benefiting the petrol bunks belonging to their friends and the BJP government lined their pocket with Rs 20 lakh crore, he said.
Dr Sailajanath said that the middle class and downtrodden people, who were badly affected by the coronavirus, were bewildered with the hike in the prices of petrol, diesel and essential commodities.
The APCC president lambasted the YSRCP MPs who were busy praising their leader Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy and criticising the Opposition leader Chandrababu Naidu. He demanded immediate rollback of the petro prices in the larger interest of people.
Referring to the patriotism speeches of the BJP leaders, Dr Sailajanath said that it was like devil quoting scriptures. He wanted to know the list of patriots from Veer Savarkar and Pragya Thakur who bowed before the British.
Rebutting the statement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi that there was no incursion of Chinese army into our territory, he demanded information as to how the 20 soldiers died in the skirmish. He recalled that top BJP leaders conducted meetings with the Chinese leaders five times and Narendra Modi himself embraced Xinping without any positive outcome.
