Vijayawada: Ateetam bags best presentation award

Vijayawada: 'Ateetam' play bagged best presentation among 19 playlets in online drama competitions organized by Lavu Venkateswarlu & Kalluri Nageswararao Kala parishad, Varagani, Guntur district from June 5 to 14.

The jury panel consisted of Uppuluri Subbaraya Sarma, Alapati Lakshmi, Dr Govidaraju Bharadwaja (New Delhi), Dr B Suresh Kumar (Ranchi), Dr Halamgadi Rammohan, Gopina Karunakar from various places adjudged and declared best presentation award to "Ateetam" playlet staged by Abinaya, Guntur. Similarly the second best presentation award captured by Janasreni, Vijayawada for the playlet 'Gurthu Teleyani Savam' and the third best presentation award received by the Young Theatre organization, Vijayawada for the playlet 'Anaganaga...'. In addition to these three, the jury panel has also declared two special jury awards for Sri Sai Arts, Kolakaluru for enacting the playlet "Talupulu Teriche Unnay" and Aravinda Arts, Tadepalli's "Aagraham".

The individual awards for best script and best director were bagged by Y Bhaskara Rao for his script 'Gurthu teleyani Savam' and R Vasudeva Rao for the playlet "Anaganaga …." respectively.

This innovative concept of parishad was efficiently organized by Popuri Nageswara Rao, president and Cherukuri Sambasiva Rao, general secretary. Many theatre lovers viewed these playlets in Youtube and facebook links.
