Vijayawada: Attacks on temples won't be tolerated, says Minister Velampalli Srinivas
Vijayawada: Endowments Minister Velampalli Srinivas has said the State government would not tolerate the attacks on temples and warned that stern action would be taken against the culprits.
He said culprits were identified in many cases and they would be punished as per the law. The investigation is on in many cases in the State and culprits will not be spared in spite of the political affiliations, said the Minister.
He was addressing the media after distribution of house site pattas at Sri Potti Sriramulu Engineering College here on Tuesday.
Velampalli alleged that the Opposition parties, TDP and BJP, are politicising the Ramateerdham incident. He questioned why 60-year-old BJP State president Somu Veerraju went to Ramateerdham in Vizianagaram district.
Why BJP president Veerraju did not speak when a chariot was burnt in Tadepalligudem which was represented by former Minister P Manikyala Rao. He alleged the BJP is purposefully politicising the Ramateerdham incident.
Referring to house site patta distribution, Velampalli said over 40,000 families would be benefitted in Vijayawada West Assembly constituency limits with the distribution of house site pattas and TIDCO houses. He said no other government in the State distributed the house site pattas to the people living on hillocks in One Town.
The Minister said the owners of the houses faced many hardships due to denial of bank loans because they had no pattas. He said the YSRCP government is fulfilling the long pending demand of the residents living on the hillocks in the city. Velampalli distributed house site pattas to the beneficiaries in the municipal divisions of 36,37 and 38.
On the other hand, Central MLA Malladi Vishnu distributed house site pattas to the beneficiaries in 56 division in Vambay colony. In the East Assembly constituency, house site pattas were distributed to the beneficiaries at SVS function hall under the supervision of YSRCP East constituency in-charge DevineniAvinash on Tuesday.
Municipal officials and local YSRCP leaders and others attended the house site pattas distribution programme in three assembly constituencies of the city.
