Vijayawada: Awareness program on kidney problems organised

Vijayawada: Manipal Hospitals conducted an awareness programme for the kidney patients to mark the World Kidney Day here on Thursday.

Addressing the media on the occasion, Dr Sudhakar Kantipudi, Director of the Manipal Hospitals, said the hospital was creating awareness among the patients towards preventing of lifestyle diseases.

He said most of the cases related to kidneys were caused by lifestyle and suggested the people to get awareness on kidney problems and how to cure. Five kidney patients have narrated their stories and explained how they were treated at the hospital.

Patients Chandrasekhar, Lavanya, Sri Lakshmi, Edukondala Venkateswara Swamy, Gila Biddhin have explained their problem and how they were cured.

Consultant nephrology and kidney transplant physician Sridhar AVSSN, Dr Ravi Shankar Ganji, consultant urology and others spoke on the occasion.
