Vijayawada: Bharathiteertha Swamy birthday fete from tomorrow

Vijayawada: Srungeri Sharada Peetham Swamiji Bharathiteertha Swamy birthday celebrations will be organised at the Sivaramakrishna Kshetram from February 18 to March 30, announced Hanumath Prasad, Dharmadhikari of the Kshetram at a press conference.

He said that devotional and spiritual programmes would be organized during this period. He also said that these programmes will create awareness about our 'dharma' and traditions.

Jonnavittula Prabhakara Sastry said that every day, the Vedic priests will chant four 'Vedas' and perform 'Homas' for the sake of world peace. The detailed calendar was released on the occasion. The organisers also revealed that 'Rudra homam' and 'poornahuthi' will be performed on March 30 in connection with the Mahaswamy's birthday. C Maruthi Prasanna also participated in this meeting along with Vedic pundits Challapalli Subrahmanya Ghanapati.
