Vijayawada: Civic chief distributes pensions

Vijayawada: Vijayawada Municipal Commissioner (VMC) Prasanna Venkatesh participated in the distribution of pensions in municipal divisions of 6 and 18 on Sunday morning and handed over to the beneficiaries.

Speaking on the occasion, he said the State government distributed Rs 6.95 crore pensions to the eligible beneficiaries in the city.

He said pensions were distributed to senior citizens, dialysis patients, widows, weavers and others as part of the social security programme.

He said the ward volunteers visited the municipal divisions and handed over the pensions. Pensioners would not be put to unnecessary troubles, he added.
