Vijayawada: CM Jagan Reddy to present Dr APJ Abdul Kalam awards to the students of govt institutions
Vijayawada: The state government is celebrating National Education Day and Minority Welfare Day at A Plus convention in Vijayawada on Monday. Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will participate in the event and distribute the awards to the students. Officials have made all arrangements for the event, which begins at 10 am today. The State Minister of Education has supervised the arrangements.
Minister Suresh Suresh said that the students would be presented with Dr APJ Abdul Kalam awards for the year 2019. The national Education day is celebrated on the occasion of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad's 132 birth anniversary.
The awardees reportedly will be receiving cash prizes, tablet PCs, gold medals and certificates. The awards will be given to the 430 students under the technical category in 13 districts who have secured60 per cent marks. Similarly, 312 awards will be given to BA, B Sc and B Com students who secured highest marks in academics.
The awards will be given only for the students who enrolled in the govt institutions.
