Vijayawada: Corona impact Cops warn persons working from home to be wary of fraudsters
Vijayawada: The cybercrime police have cautioned the people that cyber criminals can dupe the people by offering them to work from home and collect their bank account number and other personal information to rob the money from their bank accounts.
In view of the corona alert sounded by Union government, some companies may ask the employees to work from home. In this backdrop, the cyber criminals may contact people and offer them to work from home and ask for signing agreement with the organization for doing work as well as for payment of salary.
Cyber station circle inspector K Sivaji warned the people don't trust such unknown callers and give their personal details like bank account numbers and other vital information.
He said there was a scope that cyber criminals may dupe people offering part-time work on online payment. Speaking to The Hans India, Sivaji said so far, no such case has been reported in the city but there is scope that cheaters can dupe people by seeking their bank account details, bank branch and other personal information.
He suggested the people not to enter into online agreement with any unknown person or organisation. He said the organisations will pay salaries to employees and will not ask the people to deposit some amount in the name of organisation or company.
