Vijayawada: Cyber crime police crack fraud case

Vijayawada: City Cyber Crime police achieved another feather in their cap by helping a victim of fraud to get back his money. The cyber police successfully unraveled the OLX fraud case.

According to information, Phani Kumar of West Godavari district and the victim of the fraud, had received a phone call from a caller for the sale of Maruti Swift car from OLX app.

He believed the caller and deposited Rs 2.5 lakh in 2017 to purchase the car. But the caller did not send the car to Phani Kumar.

He came to know that he was cheated and lodged a complaint to Governorpet police. Later, the case was transferred to cyber crime. Under the supervision of Circle Inspector K Sivaji, the cyber crime police successfully noticed the offender and recovered Rs 1.86 lakh.

Commissioner of Police Dwaraka Tirumala Rao has handed over the cheque to the victim Phani. He met the commissioner and thanked the CP and cyber crime police for helping him to get back his money. Cyber crime police are asking the people not to trust the unknown persons and pay the money or transfer money into the accounts of others.
