Vijayawada: Dumping yard to be shifted from Singh Nagar
Vijayawada: Dumping yard situated near Singh Nagar would be shifted to some other place and a beautiful park would come up in its place in the valuable land, said Minister for Municipal Administration Botcha Satyanarayana here on Friday after inspecting the dumping yard near Vambay Colony along with Minister for Endowments Velampalli Srinivas and Central MLA Malladi Vishnu.
Addressing the gathering, the Minister said the dumping yard has been causing inconvenience to people for quite some time and a beautiful park would come up in its place after shifting it. He said this would be a great relief for 3,000 families living adjacent to dumping yard and added the area would be divided into two parts—one for the dumping yard and the other is for transit yard.
Botcha said that the officials say that the transit yard is being used to process the garbage. However, since it is also troublesome, the transit yard would be shifted to another place near Guntur. Later, that place would also be used for good purpose in future.
The minister assured the people that the drinking water problem in the area would also be solved soon. Earlier, Municipal Commissioner Venkatesh Prasanna explained to the people's representatives the action being initiated to shift the dumping yard.
Later, the ministers who visited Telugu Thalli park, instructed the municipal officials to develop the park and hand it over the local people for its maintenance. Several people's representatives and officials were also present.
