Vijayawada: Durga temple to open for public darshan from June 10
Vijayawada: Durga temple administration is gearing up to allow devotees for the darshan from June 10. The temple administration has announced some guidelines to be followed by the devotees. Ghat road will be closed and the devotees must enter the temple by Mahamandapam. Lifts will not be used and the devotees have to use steps. It will be only way to enter the temple. The timings will be 6 am to 5 pm only. Devotees have to exit through Sivalayam street route by steps. Trial run will be performed two days on June 8 and 9 and temple will be allowed for Darshan from June 10 onwards.
Endowments Minister Velampalli Srinivas on Saturday reviewed the arrangements to be made at the temple for the darshan of Goddess Kanaka Durga.
The devotees have to book tickets in the temple website. Free queue and Rs 100 queue lines will be available to the devotees. Current booking of tickets will be available at four counters arranged near Maha mandapam.
Wearing mask is must and thermal screening will be made at the entrance of the queue line. Sodium hypochlorite will be sprayed at the queue lines and other places regularly and sanitisers will be arranged at other places for the convenience of staff and devotees.
About 20,000 devotees used to attend the temple before the lockdown was announced. Arrangements are being made for the darshan of only 300 devotees per hour. If the rush is increased, social distance will go for toss.
