Vijayawada : Fibernet offers triple play pack for households
Vijayawada : To address the challenge of low internet penetration in rural areas Andhra Pradesh State Fibernet Ltd (APSFL) was providing triple play services including Internet, TV and telephone through which the customers could access internet directly through TV or even through desktop monitors.
M Madhusudana Reddy, managing director of Fibernet, said in a statement here on Tuesday that in view of the growing importance of Internet, the Fibernet was introducing three packs Rs 300, Rs 499 and Rs 599 for the household purposes.
Of late, many government and private organisations were using internet extensively up to 70 percent to discharge their duties, he pointed out.
At present APSFL was providing service to one million customers throughout the State in 660 mandals, and 6,300 rural areas.
Soon the village and ward secretariats, Rythu Bharosa Kendras, YSR Health Centres, milk collection centres, Naadu-Nedu schools would also be provide internet facility.
The MD said that as part of the phase 2, up to 55,000 km long optical fibre network services would be integrated with the village panchayats. He said that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy instructed the APSFL to provide service to the 50 lakh houses throughout the State.
All the government offices would be connected with Fibernet services in the next three years, he said. The service of the local cable operators would be utilised for providing Fibernet services.
