Vijayawada: Inspire awards for schoolchildren
Vijayawada: Municipal commissioner V Prasanna Venkatesh released the poster announcing Inspire awards for the school children at the municipal corporation office here on Thursday.
Department of Science and Technology (DST) and National Innovation Foundation are going to jointly conduct Inspire-Manak (Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research—Million Minds Augmenting National Aspirations and Knowledge) programme for the students of 6th to 10th class from all types of schools in the country.
The National Innovation Foundation, autonomous body of the DST aims to motivate the students in the age group of 10-15 years studying 6th to 10th class. The objective of the programme is to target one million original ideas and innovations rooted in science and societal applications to foster a culture of creativity and innovative thinking among school children.
Under this programme, the schools could nominate five best original ideas or innovations of students through the website inspireawards-dst.gov.in till September 30.
It may be recalled that the students of Krishna district secured 701 awards and got Rs 10,000 incentives to each of them directly into their accounts.
District science officer Mynam Hussain and ACG A Mohan Rao were also present during the poster release programme.
